Dessert plum

Prunus domestica L.

Raised in 1921 at Long Ashton Research Station by G.T. Spinks and introduced in 1931. It was awarded the Award of Merit by the RHS in 1951. Fruits have firm, very juicy flesh with a sweet and moderately rich flavour. Fruits tend to bruise very easily.
