Raised in 1903 by J.H.Stevens & Son, Woolbrook Nursery, Sidmouth, Devon, England and introduced by them. First fruited in 1912. Received an Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1930. Fruits have rather coarse-textured, juicy flesh with an acid flavour.
