Early Rivers
Culinary plum
Prunus domestica L.
Raised in about 1820 by Rivers at Sawbridgeworth and introduced in about 1834. It was awarded a First Class Certificate by the RHS in 1895. Fruits have golden yellow, firm flesh which has a most delicious flavour when cooked.
