Autumn Compote open pollinated. Raised at Sawbridgeworth by Thomas Rivers. It was first described in 1883 and introduced in 1885. Awarded First Class Certificate by RHS in 1894. Fruits have very juicy flesh with a moderately sweet, subacid and little rich flavour.
